Beginning this month, sitting meditation sessions begin via Zoom. Everyone is welcome to join and there is no charge.
All sessions are led by Rev. Miki Nakura of the Jodo-Shinshu Shin-Buddhist New York Sangha. As a virtual online activity, anyone anywhere may join.
Rev. Nakura follows a form of mediation called seiza, a universal method of sitting and breathing quietly for living peacefully moment by moment in daily life. By sitting on a chair or a cushion on the floor, participants learn correct posture, breathing and how to focus energy in the lower belly.
Sessions are held every Tuesday 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Rev. Nakura is a Higashi Honganji minister based in the New York City area. For more information, contact him at mikinakura87@gmail.com
